So far we have studied the numbers that occur very often in sentences and phrases. Whereas, now we are going to learn big numbers in Sanskrit which are big and are rarely used except, “sahasra” which means ‘one thousand’

Of these words only laksa and koti have survived in English and Sanskrit, where they have transformed to’ lakhs’ and ‘crores’
